Terms of Service
Last updated 27 October 2026
These terms govern your use of HighWater Brief. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.
The service
HighWater Brief turns modelled river discharge data into a one-page lease decision brief, and can send river alerts for saved addresses. It is a decision aid, not an engineering survey, flood study, insurance product or legal advice. See our Disclaimer.
Accounts
You must provide a valid email address and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 or have authority to act for your business.
Prices, billing and refunds
- The first full brief on a new account is free. Further briefs are a one-off $2 each.
- River alerts are $1 per month for each address you choose to cover.
- The Property Manager plan is $39 per month for up to 50 addresses, with unlimited fair-use briefs, CSV import and alerts for those addresses.
- Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel at any time in the billing portal; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- A brief is delivered digitally on purchase, so it is generally non-refundable unless it fails to generate. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store card numbers. Prices may exclude taxes.
Alerts
Alerts are sent only to the channels you switch on for an address, after you tick the consent box. You can stop email alerts with the link in any alert, and WhatsApp alerts by replying STOP. Alerts are estimates from forecast river data. They are not official warnings, and you must not rely on them to protect life or safety. Follow your local authorities.
Acceptable use
Do not abuse, scrape, resell or reverse engineer the service, attempt to bypass limits or security, or use it unlawfully. We may rate-limit or suspend accounts that put the service at risk.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HighWater Brief is not liable for flood losses, lease outcomes, missed or late alerts, or indirect losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the event. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will post the new date here. Continued use means acceptance.
